Hampton is an unincorporated community in Carter County, Tennessee, United States, located in the northeastern Appalachian Mountains region of the state. Located near scenic Watauga Lake, Hampton is known for its natural beauty and outdoor recreation and is surrounded by the Cherokee National Forest.
Hampton is near the Tennessee-North Carolina border, about 30 miles from Johnson City. Watauga Lake is the centerpiece of the area's landscape, offering fishing, boating and camping facilities.
