Located in the northeastern part of China's Qinghai Province, Haidong City is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Qinghai Province, situated in the transition zone between the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and the Loess Plateau, with an average altitude of about 2,000 meters. As one of the birthplaces of Huangshui culture, Haidong has a rich historical heritage and diversified ethnic customs, where Han, Hui, Tibetan and Tu ethnic groups live in harmony.
The city takes agriculture and tourism as its economic pillars, producing crops such as rapeseed and wheat, and is famous for attractions such as the Mutual Assistance Tujia Style Garden and the Qutang Temple. The climate is continental on the plateau with cool and pleasant summers, making it an ideal destination for summer vacation travel. With convenient transportation, Haidong is closely connected to Xining, Lanzhou and other cities through the Lanxin high-speed railway and the G6 Beijing-Tibet Expressway.
In recent years, Haidong has been actively developing green industries and eco-tourism, and is committed to creating an important urban node in the eastern part of the Tibetan Plateau, with both cultural heritage and modern development vitality.
Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
