With convenient transportation, the Taiwan Railway Longitudinal Line and the Kaohsiung MRT Red Line both pass through the area, making it one of the most important satellite towns of Kaohsiung City. The area is mainly agricultural, producing tropical fruits such as lotus flower and mango, and in recent years it has gradually developed into an area with both idyllic landscapes and modern residential functions.
