Gubardag is a major port city in Turkmenistan's western Balkan region, situated on the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea and strategically located as a key transportation hub connecting Central Asia with the neighboring countries on the Caspian Sea. As one of Turkmenistan's major oil and gas exporting ports, the city plays an important role in the regional economy based on its rich energy resources.
