Guazhou County is located in the western part of Jiuquan City, Gansu Province, China, at the western end of the Hexi Corridor, an important node of the ancient Silk Road. The county is famous for the historic Guazhou Ancient City and its rich cultural heritage, such as the ruins of the Lockyang City and the Yulin Caves, which show traces of cultural exchanges between the ancient Central Plains and the Western Regions.
