Gongyi City is located in the central part of Henan Province, China, under the jurisdiction of Zhengzhou City, the capital of the province, and is situated at the intersection of the western hills of Henan Province and the southern bank of the Yellow River. As an important county-level city in Henan Province, Gongyi is known as a strong industrial city with pillar industries such as aluminum processing, machinery manufacturing and refractory materials, and its economic strength has ranked among the top 100 counties in China for many years.
Gongyi is one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization, with a history of more than 1,500 years. It is the hometown of Du Fu, the Sage of Poetry, with Du Fu's Hometown Memorial Hall; Song Tombs (Northern Song Imperial Tombs) are listed as the World Cultural Heritage, preserving a large number of stone carvings and artistic treasures; in addition, the Kang Million Manor, Snowflake Cave on Floating Opera Mountain and other attractions integrate humanities and natural landscape, attracting many tourists.
Gongyi has a well-developed transportation network, with the Longhai Railway and Lianhuo Expressway running through the whole territory, and Zhengzhou Airport is only 1 hour away by car. In recent years, Gongyi has continued to promote industrial upgrading and ecological construction, and has been awarded the titles of National Sanitary City and National Civilized City, becoming a modern city with vitality in the Central Plains urban agglomeration.
Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The local economy is based on fishing, tourism and agriculture, and the climate is cool enough for summer vacations.
With a population of around 20,000, the town of Sevan retains its traditional Armenian culture, while the infrastructure is constantly being improved to provide accommodation and catering services. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the nature and history of the Caucasus and is easily accessible for short trips.
