Introduction to Gongbu Jiangda, Tibet, China

Located in the western part of Linzhi City in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, Gongbu Jangda is situated in the middle reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River valley, with an average elevation of about 3,600 meters above sea level. It is an important transportation hub in southeastern Tibet and a must-pass place on National Highway 318, famous for its magnificent snow-capped mountains, forests and canyon landscapes.

Natural and Cultural Characteristics

There is the Batson Tso National 5A Tourist Scenic Spot in the territory, with the blue and clear lake, which is known as the "fairyland on earth". The Tibetan culture of Kumbum is well preserved, and the traditional Kumbum Arrow Dance, Rattling Arrow Competition and Kumbum New Year are unique. The local agricultural and animal husbandry products, such as matsutake mushrooms and yak meat, are of excellent quality, and are important ecotourism and cultural heritage sites in Tibet.

As an important ecological barrier in the Niyang River Basin, Gongbu Jangda is rich in biodiversity, with fir forests and alpine meadow ecosystems.
