Glina is a small town in Sisak-Moslavin County, Croatia, located on the banks of the Glina River, a tributary of the Sava River, about 50 kilometers southeast of the capital Zagreb. The town has a long history, documented in the Middle Ages, with a multicultural legacy of Ottoman and Habsburg rule, and was severely damaged during the Croatian War of Independence in the 1990s, and has been rebuilt to retain its traditional stone buildings and peaceful atmosphere. The local economy is based on agriculture and small-scale processing industries, and the surrounding forests and rivers are rich in resources for hiking and eco-tourism. As a low-key destination in the Croatian interior, Glina blends history with nature, making it an ideal stop for exploring the Central Croatian countryside.
Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims.
