Golmud, located in Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is an important transportation hub and emerging industrial city on the Tibetan Plateau, known as the "City of Soldiers" and "China's Salt Lake City". This city is located in the southern edge of the Qaidam Basin, named after the Golmud River, meaning "dense river place", is the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, Qinghai-Tibet Highway, Gedun Railway intersection, bear the important function of the transit of materials into Tibet and the strategic location. Surrounded by natural landscapes such as Charkhan Salt Lake, Kunlun Mountains and Coco Sicily, Charkhan Salt Lake is the largest salt lake in China, rich in salt resources, forming a unique salt lake industrial system.
