Located in the western part of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, Ker County belongs to the Ali Region and is situated between the Himalayas and the Gangdis Mountains, with an average altitude of about 4,300 meters. As the political, economic and cultural center of Ali Region, Ker County is famous for its unique highland scenery and strategic location. It is home to natural landscapes such as the famous Bangong Lake and Shiquan River, as well as historical and cultural relics such as the ruins of the Guge Dynasty. The climate is dry and cold, with animal husbandry and tourism as the leading industries.
