Fuxin City is located in the northwest of Liaoning Province, on the border between Liaoning and Inner Mongolia, and is an important node city in the Western Liaoning Corridor, known as the "City of Coal and Electricity". As one of the earliest coal industry bases established in New China, Fuxin has made important contributions to national energy security, and is now actively promoting economic transformation and developing new energy sources, agricultural products processing and other emerging industries.
