Fugou County is located in the southeastern part of China's Henan Province, part of Zhoukou City, and is situated in the East Henan Plain, with a total area of about 1,173 square kilometers. The county has a long history as one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization, with more than 2,000 years of founding history, and a predominantly agricultural economy, producing wheat, corn and cotton. Fugou is conveniently located near a number of highways and railroad lines, and is about 60 kilometers from downtown Zhoukou. The local culture is profound, preserving historical sites such as the General Ji Hongchang Memorial Hall, while being famous for traditional opera and folk activities. In recent years, Fugou has been actively developing modern agriculture and light industry, with a steadily growing economy and a population of about 700,000.
