The Fondation St. Denis de Martinique is not a separate country or city, but an important cultural institution located in Fort-de-France, the capital of the French overseas region of Martinique. The Foundation is dedicated to the promotion of the arts, education and community development in the Caribbean, and is a central component of the local cultural ecology.
The island of Martinique, where the Foundation is based, is located in the Lesser Antilles, an overseas region of France whose capital is Fort-de-France. Rooted in this land of African, European and Caribbean cultures, the St. Denis Foundation showcases Creole culture through a variety of programs.
The Foundation supports local artists and promotes cultural dialog through art exhibitions, music festivals, literary workshops and heritage preservation activities. Its programs often focus on topics such as Caribbean history, ecological sustainability and social inclusion, and serve as a bridge between Martinique and international cultural networks.
As an important landmark in Martinique's cultural landscape, the Fondation Saint-Denis not only safeguards local traditions, but also promotes cultural evolution through innovative programs that attract culture lovers from around the world to visit this French Caribbean island and experience its diverse identity and dynamism.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
