Farnos is a town in the French overseas department of French Guiana, located on the Atlantic coast of northeastern South America. As part of the French territorial component within the European Union, Farnos inherits the French administrative system, with French as its official language and the Euro as its currency.
It has a tropical rainforest climate with high temperatures and rainfall all year round, and its natural landscape is characterized by dense tropical jungle and rich biodiversity. Farnos is close to the famous Kourou Space Center (European Space Launch site), a region internationally known for its space activities.
Economically, Farnos is dependent on French financial support and is associated with the space industry, fishing and limited agriculture. The town has a good infrastructure and retains its French cultural identity while incorporating elements of its native culture, such as Creole.
With its unique South American-European cultural mix and aerospace technology location, Farnos is one of the representative settlements of French Guiana.
