Located in Leshan City, Sichuan Province, China, Mount Emei is one of the four most famous Buddhist mountains in China, known as the place of the Bodhisattva Pushya. In 1996, Mount Emei, together with the Leshan Giant Buddha, was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site for both culture and nature. Its main peak, the Golden Peak, is 3,079 meters above sea level, and is famous for its four wonders: sea of clouds, sunrise, Buddha's light, and sacred lanterns. The mountain is rich in flora and fauna, including the rare Tibetan macaque. Emei Mountain has a long history of martial arts culture and is the birthplace of the Emei school of martial arts. With an average annual temperature of 14-19°C, the four seasons have different sceneries, with rhododendrons all over the mountain in spring and snowy picturesque scenery in winter, attracting tourists from home and abroad to make pilgrimages and sightseeing all year round.
Ruby is a small incorporated town in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States, located about 60 miles northeast of the state capital of Baton Rouge and adjacent to the Mississippi border, and characterized by a quiet rural atmosphere and a deep community culture. Sparsely populated, with fewer than 500 people according to the most recent census, the town dates back to the late 1800s and, with its early rise to an agricultural economy (e.g., cotton and soybean farming), still retains the rustic look of a traditional Southern town. The town's landmarks include a century-old community church and several Victorian-style homes, and the annual fall "Ruby Family Day," which blends elements of local Cajun and Creole culture, has become a shared memory for the surrounding residents. Despite its small size, Ruby epitomizes the serenity of the American countryside with its simple folk and distinctive Louisiana southern flavor.
