Aïn Taf is a municipality in the province of Tlemcen in northwestern Algeria, located on the border between the Mediterranean coast and the Tlemcen mountains, about 30 kilometers from the provincial capital, Tlemcen. The region is characterized by a hilly landscape and a Mediterranean climate, with dry, hot summers and mild, rainy winters.
Historically, Attaf was a Berber region, but later it was influenced by Arab culture, resulting in a fusion of Arabic language and Berber traditions. The population is about 15,000 (2020 estimate), mostly engaged in agriculture and small-scale commerce.
The local economy is based on the cultivation of olives, grapes and other cash crops, and the specialty of olive oil is of high quality. In recent years, based on the Tlemcen Tourism Circle, rural eco-tourism has been gradually developed, and visitors can experience traditional farm life and natural hiking trails.
The city of Tlemcen is connected to the Mediterranean port of Gijel by the N22 highway, which is about 1 hour's drive. There is no direct railroad connection, the nearest train station is located in downtown Tlemcen.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
