Erguna is a county-level city located in Hulunbeier City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, on the border between China and Russia, named after the Erguna River, which is the boundary river between China and Russia. With a total area of about 28,000 square kilometers, the city is sparsely populated and is characterized by multi-ethnic settlements of Mongolians, Russians and Han Chinese, preserving a rich nomadic culture and border customs.
Erguna is famous for its magnificent natural landscapes, including vast grasslands, wetlands and forest ecosystems, and is an important part of the Hulunbeier Grassland.
