Dulan County is located in the southeastern part of Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, China, in the hinterland of the Tibetan Plateau, with an average altitude of 3,100 meters. As an important node of the South Road of the ancient Silk Road, it carries a rich historical and cultural heritage.
Dulan is famous for the ancient tomb complex of Tugu Hun, which is known as the "Oriental Pyramid".2018 The archaeological discovery of the No.1 Tomb of Blood Wei shocked the world, and a large number of silk fabrics and cultural relics unearthed bear witness to the splendor of cultural exchanges between China and the West during the Tang Dynasty. It also retains a unique multicultural fusion of Tibetan and Mongolian ethnic groups.
The county is blessed with the majestic Kunlun Mountains, vast grasslands and desert landscapes, and the Balong International Hunting Ground is a well-known eco-tourism destination. Dulan is at the same time an important animal husbandry base and mineral resource-rich area in Qinghai, with excellent quality of wolfberry and other specialty agricultural products.
Nowadays, relying on the transportation advantage of Qinghai-Tibet Highway, Dulan actively develops eco-tourism and green industry, and has become an important gateway connecting Tibet and Xinjiang in Qinghai Province, displaying a unique charm of blending tradition and modernity.
Diffa, the capital of the Diffa region in southeastern Niger, is located on the southern edge of the Sahara Desert and shares a border with Nigeria, making it one of the most important border cities in Niger. The city is located in the lower Niger River basin around the climate of the tropical desert climate, hot and dry throughout the year, the average annual precipitation is less than 300 millimeters. The economy is based on agriculture and animal husbandry, and the surrounding areas are rich in millet, sorghum and livestock. Diffa, as a regional trade center, undertakes the function of cross-border trade with neighboring countries, such as Nigeria, and is especially famous for the trade of livestock, agricultural products and handicrafts.
