Jumu, Suriname is a small town in southern Suriname, South America, located along the upper Suriname River, far from the capital city of Paramaribo, known for its pristine rainforest environment and multicultural community. It is inhabited mainly by Creoles, indigenous people and descendants from Indonesia and India, and has preserved its cultural heritage of traditional agriculture, handicrafts and oral history. Surrounded by rich biodiversity, Jumu is a destination for eco-tourism enthusiasts to experience jungle trekking, river safaris and the tribal life of the local people.
