Diffa, the capital of the Diffa region in southeastern Niger, is located on the southern edge of the Sahara Desert and shares a border with Nigeria, making it one of the most important border cities in Niger. The city is located in the lower Niger River basin around the climate of the tropical desert climate, hot and dry throughout the year, the average annual precipitation is less than 300 millimeters. The economy is based on agriculture and animal husbandry, and the surrounding areas are rich in millet, sorghum and livestock. Diffa, as a regional trade center, undertakes the function of cross-border trade with neighboring countries, such as Nigeria, and is especially famous for the trade of livestock, agricultural products and handicrafts. The city is culturally diverse, with Hausa, Tuareg and Kanuri ethnic groups living in the area, and is unique in its crafts such as traditional leather weaving and silversmithing. Despite infrastructural challenges, Diffa remains an important economic and cultural node in the south-east of the Niger, thanks to its strategic location and rich cultural heritage.
Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province, is located in southwestern China and is the political, economic and cultural center of Guizhou. The city is known for its cool climate, with an average summer temperature of only 23°C, making it the "Summer Capital of China". Surrounded by karst landscapes, the city boasts natural and cultural landscapes such as Qianling Mountain Park and Qingyan Ancient Town.
As the core area of the National Big Data Comprehensive Pilot Zone, Guiyang has gathered data centers such as Apple and Huawei, and is known as "China's Digital Valley". The economy is based on big data, tourism and specialty agriculture (e.g. raw material cultivation of Maotai wine). Convenient transportation: Longdongbao International Airport connects to many countries, and the high-speed railway network connects to the whole country.
Multi-ethnic settlement gives it a unique cultural heritage, with traditional festivals of the Miao and Buyei ethnic groups and delicacies such as sour soup fish and silk dolls attracting tourists from all over the world. Guiyang is becoming one of the most dynamic modern cities in Southwest China with its dual-track development of ecological protection and digital economy.
