Diffa, the capital of the Diffa region in southeastern Niger, is located on the southern edge of the Sahara Desert and shares a border with Nigeria, making it one of the most important border cities in Niger. The city is located in the lower Niger River basin around the climate of the tropical desert climate, hot and dry throughout the year, the average annual precipitation is less than 300 millimeters. The economy is based on agriculture and animal husbandry, and the surrounding areas are rich in millet, sorghum and livestock. Diffa, as a regional trade center, undertakes the function of cross-border trade with neighboring countries, such as Nigeria, and is especially famous for the trade of livestock, agricultural products and handicrafts. The city is culturally diverse, with Hausa, Tuareg and Kanuri ethnic groups living in the area, and is unique in its crafts such as traditional leather weaving and silversmithing. Despite infrastructural challenges, Diffa remains an important economic and cultural node in the south-east of the Niger, thanks to its strategic location and rich cultural heritage.
Ambatolampy is an important town in the central highlands of Madagascar, located about 70 kilometers south of the capital Antananarivo. As the administrative center of the Vakinankaratra region, the town is situated on a plateau at an altitude of about 1,500 meters above sea level, with a mild and pleasant climate, surrounded by a landscape of rolling green hills and rice fields.
Ambatolia is famous for its traditional aluminum crafts and is known as the "Aluminum Pot Capital of Madagascar". Local craftsmen use recycled aluminum to make pots, pans, cookware, and other daily necessities by hand, and the craft has been passed down from generation to generation, making it an important pillar of the economy. The region is also an agricultural area for rice, vegetables and fruits, with several plantations scattered around the area.
Located on Madagascar's main highway 7, the town is an important transportation hub connecting the capital with the southern city of Antsirabe. Visitors can experience the highlands, visit the aluminum workshops, and use it as a base to explore the nearby Andritissina rainforest and distinctive villages. Ambatoria's market culture, remnants of colonial architecture and simple community atmosphere add to its unique charm.
