Located in the north-central part of Jilin Province in China, Dewei is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Changchun City, which is situated in the hinterland of the Songliao Plain and enjoys an advantageous geographic location and convenient transportation. It has a temperate continental monsoon climate with four distinct seasons and rich agricultural resources, and is an important food production base in Jilin Province, especially famous for corn and soybeans.
Dewei has a long history and deep cultural heritage, with several historical sites and natural landscapes, such as the Forked Pass Ancient Town and the scenery along the Songhua River.
