Located in the western part of Chongqing Municipality, China, Dazu District is an important humanistic and natural tourist destination in Chongqing. The centerpiece of Dazu is the Dazu Rock Carvings, a World Heritage Site, which was built during the Tang and Song dynasties and is regarded as the last pinnacle of Chinese grotto art, with more than 50,000 statues spread across Baodingshan, Beishan and other areas, and is a marvel of exquisite carving techniques and profound cultural connotations.
In addition to stone carvings, Dazu is also rich in ecological resources with natural landscapes such as Longshui Lake National Tourism Resort and Yulong Mountain Forest Park. Based on the local farming culture, the specialty agricultural products such as Dazu winter vegetables and Longshui small hardware are famous.
