Located in the southeast of Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province, Dari County is situated in the core area of the Sanjiangyuan National Park, an important ecological barrier at the source of the Yellow River, with an average elevation of 4,000 meters above sea level, and possessing vast alpine meadows, wetlands and rare wildlife resources. As a settlement area mainly inhabited by Tibetans, it retains a strong tradition of nomadic culture, far-reaching influence of Tibetan Buddhism culture, and a mixture of natural and humanistic landscapes. The territory is rich in Gesar cultural relics, and the annual horse racing and equestrian performances and other folk activities attract many tourists.
