Dar es Salaam is Tanzania's largest city and main port, located on the Indian Ocean coast. As the country's economic and cultural hub, it is home to more than 6 million people and is an important commercial and transportation center in East Africa.
The city, whose name means "harbor of peace" in Swahili, dates back to the 19th century. Colonial German architecture is juxtaposed with modern skyscrapers, and cultural venues such as the National Museum and the Village Museum showcase Tanzania's rich heritage. As the gateway to Zanzibar and the Serengeti National Park, Dar es Salaam is also an important starting point for travelers exploring Tanzania.
The city concentrates most of the country's industries and businesses, and the port handles 90% of Tanzania's foreign trade. The diverse ethnic and religious makeup creates a unique blend of cultures, and Kiswahili and English are widely spoken. Although the capital was moved to Dodoma in 1974, Dar es Salaam remains the de facto political and economic center.

Ritu has a long history, is one of the important birthplaces of the Xiangxiong culture, the territory preserves a large number of precious petroglyphs relics, such as Renmudong petroglyphs, more than 3,000 years ago, a vivid record of the ancient nomadic life scenes. The local animal husbandry is the main industry, the people are simple, unique folk culture and traditional handicrafts (such as Ritu thangka) attracted many tourists to visit, it is an excellent place to experience the humanities and nature in western Tibet.
