Daofu County is located in the northeastern part of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China, on the southeastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau, with an average altitude of about 3,000 meters. Famous for its unique Tibetan culture, magnificent natural scenery and religious relics, the county is an important node on the Western Sichuan Tourist Circuit.
Daofu houses are known as the "model of Tibetan architectural art", with their colorful carvings and wooden structures being very distinctive. There are natural landscapes such as Yala Snow Mountain and Yuke Grassland, as well as humanistic shrines such as Lingjiao Monastery and Huiyuan Monastery in Daofu County. The economy of Daofu County is based on animal husbandry, tourism and specialty agricultural products, producing barley, yak and wild mushrooms.
The county's transportation mainly relies on National Highway 350, about 180 kilometers from Kangding Airport, and the best time to visit is from May to October. With its pristine Tibetan flavor and unexploited natural environment, Daofu is an ideal destination for in-depth experience of Tibetan culture.
