Located in the northeastern part of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan Province of China, Daliao District is situated at the junction of the Gaoping River Alluvial Plain and the Pingtung Plain, bordering the Dacheng and Renyuan Districts in the north, Wandan Township of Pingtung County in the east, Fengshan District in the west, and Dashu District in the south, with a total area of about 71.95 square kilometers, which makes the district the second-largest municipal district of Kaohsiung City in terms of area. In the early days, the area was mainly agricultural, growing rice, vegetables, etc., and then gradually developed into an area that emphasizes both industry and commerce. The district has convenient transportation, with the Kaohsiung MRT Red Line running through it and a Daliao Station, making it easy for residents to commute. Daliao is rich in natural and humanistic landscapes, such as the Xiliao Bird Watching Area and Shuangxi Park, which are good places for Kaohsiung residents to relax; there is also a traditional temple culture in the area, such as the Daliao Baoan Palace, which is full of incense and shows a strong southern Fujianese folklore.
