Located in west-central Trinidad, Couva is an important industrial and commercial town in Trinidad and Tobago, and is part of the Couva-Tabakiti-Talparo region. As the centerpiece of the country's "industrial corridor", Couva is home to key industries such as refining, chemicals and manufacturing, with the Gulf of Pierre refinery being one of the largest refining facilities in the Caribbean. In addition, Couva is well connected to the capital city of Port-of-Spain and the southern city of San Fernando, with an excellent highway network. The area is also multicultural, combining modern industrial dynamism with traditional community character, and is an integral part of Trinidad and Tobago's economic landscape.
Port of Spain is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, located on the northwest coast of the island of Trinidad. As the political, economic and cultural center of the country, the city is a blend of Caribbean flavor and multicultural heritage. Its name is derived from the Spanish colonial period, reflecting the historical roots of the area.
Port of Spain is the main port and commercial center of Trinidad and Tobago, with the energy industry (especially oil and gas) as its core driver. The city has an excellent transportation network, including the Piarco International Airport, which facilitates regional and international connectivity.
Port of Spain is known for its vibrant cultural scene, such as the annual Mardi Gras celebration, which showcases calypso music and steel drum art. Visitors can explore attractions such as Queen's Park Savannah, the National Museum and Botanical Gardens, and experience unique Creole cuisine and colonial architecture.
The city is located in a tropical climate zone that is warm and humid year-round, making it ideal for tourism. Backed by the Northern Mountains and facing the Gulf of Paria, the city's natural beauty makes it an ideal starting point for exploring Trinidad's rainforests and beaches.
