Urtica Township is located in the central part of Yunlin County, Taiwan Province of China, located in the core of the Chia Nan Plain, neighboring Huwei Township in the west, Douliu City in the east, Xiluo Township in the north, and Dounan Township in the south, the transportation is convenient, the Taiwan First Railway and National Highway No. 1 run through the township, forming a convenient transportation network. With a flat terrain and mild climate, the township was mainly an agricultural area in the early days, producing rice and sugarcane. In recent years, the township has gradually transformed itself into a place for the development of specialty agriculture and local industries, such as grape cultivation and traditional cake making, combining a rustic look with the vitality of modern industries. Traditional temples and folk cultures have been preserved in the township, and the Urtica Culture Festival held annually showcases local characteristics, making it one of the representative areas for experiencing the humanistic customs of townships in central Taiwan.
