Chișinău is the capital of the Republic of Moldova, located in the center of the country on the banks of the Bek River, a tributary of the Prut River, and is the political, economic, cultural and transportation center of the country. Founded in the 15th century and dating back to 1466, the city was under Ottoman and Tsarist Russian rule before becoming the capital of a sovereign state after Moldova's independence in 1991. As an important hub of the agricultural country, Chisinau is characterized by machine building, food processing and light industry, as well as cultural and educational institutions such as the National University of Moldova and the National Museum. The city's architecture is a blend of Eastern European and Soviet-era features, with landmarks such as St. Constantine and Helen's Cathedrals, showcasing the city's diverse historical heritage.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
