Located in the southeast of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China, Chifeng is a regional center city at the junction of Mongolia, Hebei and Liaoning provinces. As the birthplace of the Hongshan culture, it has a history of 8,000 years of human civilization, and the C-shaped jade dragon, known as the "First Dragon of China", was unearthed here.
Chifeng is located in the transition zone between the southern part of Daxinganling and the northern foot of Yanshan Mountain, with mountainous and hilly landscapes and the Keshiketeng World Geopark. The ecological landscapes such as Ulaanbaotun Grassland and Dalinuoer Lake are distributed in the territory, which is an important ecological barrier for the capital city of Beijing.
There are three major cultural systems, namely the Red Mountain Culture, the Khitan Liao Culture and the Mongolian Culture, and there are historical relics such as the Liao Shangjing Ruins and the Prince's Mansion of Karakin. Unique geological landscapes such as Keshiketeng Stonehenge and Yulong Sand Lake attract a large number of tourists every year.
Chifeng is an important agricultural and animal husbandry production base and energy base in Inner Mongolia, and is rich in agricultural and livestock products such as grains and beans, beef and mutton. In recent years, it has focused on the development of cultural tourism, modern logistics and other industries, and is an important transportation hub connecting Northeast and North China.
