Liaoning Chaoyang, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Liaoning Province, is located in the hilly area of western Liaoning and has a long history and rich cultural heritage. Jajang (Korean: 부전, transcription: Bujon) is a county in South Hamgyong Province of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, located in the southern foothills of the Gae Ma Plateau in the Jajang Ridge mountain range region, and is named after its proximity to the famous Jajang Ridge. The area is characterized by mountainous terrain, rich forest resources and a continental monsoon climate with long, cold winters and short, cool summers. The local economy is based on forestry and a small amount of agriculture, growing hardy crops such as potatoes and corn, and the area is home to natural attractions such as Gojoseon Lake, which is one of the most important water sources in the DPRK.
