Changyi District is the core administrative district under the jurisdiction of Jilin City, Jilin Province, China, and is located at the confluence of the Changbai Mountain Range and the Songhua River Basin. As the birthplace and old town of Jilin City, Changyi has a history of nearly 300 years since it was founded during the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, and was once famous for its old name of "Shipyard", which made it an important water transportation hub and material distribution center in the Northeast region.
In the area, there are historical buildings such as the Jilin Temple of Literature (the largest Confucian temple in Northeast China) and the Catholic Church, as well as natural and humanistic landscapes such as the Beishan Park and the Songhua River Landscape Belt. Modern Changyi has become the commercial and financial center of Jilin City, with a concentration of large shopping centers, traditional markets and transportation hubs, while retaining a strong city culture and Guandong style.
In terms of transportation, Changyi is connected to cities such as Changchun and Harbin through the high-speed rail network at Jilin Station, and is approximately 100 kilometers from Changchun Longjia International Airport, while the Songhua River waterway in the area still functions as a tourist shipping route.
