Češis, Latvia: a medieval fairy tale town

Located in central Latvia, Češis is the historical and cultural center of the Viseme region. The 800-year-old city is famous for its well-preserved medieval architecture, including Češis Castle, one of the oldest castle ruins in the Baltic region. The stone streets of the old town, the wooden houses with red-tiled roofs and the old steeple of St. John's Church form a typical Hanseatic cityscape.

A tourist destination where nature meets humanity

The city is surrounded by the Cesis Nature Reserve and is crossed by the river Goya, which creates a unique landscape of a "castle in the middle of a lake". The Cesis Art Festival in the summer and the Christmas Market in the winter attract a large number of visitors. The nearby Goya National Park offers outdoor activities such as hiking and boating, while the famous Ligo Brewery continues the centuries-old tradition of local brewing.

Cultural heritage not to be missed

The Tsesis Castle Museum displays historical artifacts of the Livonian Order, and the Castle Park is a masterpiece of Romantic architecture. The Lutheran Church on the city square has the oldest pipe organ in the Baltic region. These attractions, together with local craft workshops and amber workshops, form a complete cultural experience circuit, making it the most popular short-haul destination around Riga.

Overview of Sao Tome and Principe (note on "Java")

São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
