Capestre de Mariegalante is a commune in the French overseas region of Guadeloupe, located on the island of Mariegalante in the Lesser Antilles. With an area of 46.2 square kilometers and a population of about 3,500, it is the largest settlement on the island. Its name derives from the Spanish word "Capesterre", meaning "windward place", reflecting the island's climate, which is influenced by the trade winds.
Marigarante is located about 35 kilometers southeast of the main island of Guadeloupe and has a volcanic topography, with its highest point, Mount Molnar, at 307 meters above sea level. The island is covered in tropical rainforest and has black sand beaches and coral reef ecosystems. The climate is hot and humid, with an average annual temperature of 27°C. The dry season lasts from December to May, and the island is prone to hurricanes from July to October.
The traditional economy is based on sugar cane cultivation and rum production, and the local distillery has a reputation for producing agricultural rum. Eco-tourism has grown rapidly in recent years, and visitors can experience plantation tours, turtle watching and traditional Creole music festivals. The island retains the ruins of colonial sugar mills and colorful log cabin buildings, and the annual St. Louis Festival in August hosts sailing regattas and other folkloric events.
The main island of Guadeloupe is about an hour away by ferry, and the main means of transportation on the island are rental bicycles and motorcycles. Famous attractions include the black sand beaches of Angel Bay, the Grande Couture Lookout and the 19th century lighthouse. Local specialties include grilled fish with coconut and Creole stew, which is served with fresh sugar cane juice.
Ren County, now Renze District of Xingtai City, is located in the south of Hebei Province, northeast of Xingtai Municipal Jurisdiction, in the hinterland of the North China Plain, upstream of the Heilonggang Basin, neighboring Julu County in the east, Nanhe District in the south, Xingtai Municipal District in the west, and Neiqiu County in the north. During the Spring and Autumn period belonged to Jin, the Warring States belonged to Zhao, and the county was set up in the Han Dynasty, with a long history and deep cultural heritage. Traditional folk culture is rich, Renxian Drum and Blow Music is listed in the provincial intangible cultural heritage list, highlighting the unique local humanistic charm.
