Cangyuan Wa Autonomous County is located in the southwestern part of China's Yunnan Province, belonging to Lincang City, and is one of the only two Wa autonomous counties in China. The county borders Myanmar in the west and has a national border of 127.29 kilometers, making it a typical border mountainous county. With a total area of 2,445 square kilometers and an average altitude of about 1,300 meters, the county has a subtropical monsoon climate with abundant rainfall and a forest coverage rate of over 70%.
Canyuan is characterized by Wa culture as its core, preserving intangible cultural heritages such as primitive Wa villages, wooden drums and cliff paintings. Famous attractions include the Canyuan Cliff Painting Group, which is more than 3,000 years old, the Sigangli Cave, a group of sinkholes, and the Wengding Primitive Tribe (which is being restored after the fire in 2021). The annual "Sigangli Touch Your Black" carnival is an important showcase of Wa culture.
The area is mainly agricultural, producing tea, sugarcane, rubber and other cash crops, among which Pu'er tea and Wa specialty handicrafts are well known. In recent years, relying on the border crossings and ethnic culture, it is actively developing rural tourism and border trade industries.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
