Located in the central part of China's Hebei Province, under Baoding City, Bono County is situated in the hinterland of the North China Plain, with a total area of about 331 square kilometers. The county has a long history, more than 2,000 years since it was established in the Western Han Dynasty, and is one of the ancient cultural counties in Hebei.
Bono County has a flat terrain and a temperate continental monsoon climate. Agriculture is dominated by wheat, corn and fruit and vegetable cultivation, making it an important grain production area in Hebei Province. In recent years, the county has been actively developing light industry, manufacturing and modern agriculture, with steady economic growth.
Bo Ye is rich in culture, and is the ancestral home of Liu Ji (Liu Bowen), a famous politician and literary scholar of the Ming Dynasty. The county retains a number of historical sites and traditional folklore, such as folk opera and handicrafts.
