Located at the southern foot of Tianshan Mountain and the western shore of Lake Bosten in Bayin'guoleng Mongol Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang, Bohu County, named after the lake, is an important eco-tourism county in western China. It has the largest inland freshwater lake in China, Bosten Lake, with a water area of more than 1,000 square kilometers, and extensive reed swamps in the lake, which is an important habitat for migratory birds, and is known as the "Jiangnan Beyond the Seas". The lake is a blend of Mongolian, Uyghur and other ethnic cultures. In summer, Bosten Lake is filled with lotus blossoms and fishing boats, while in winter, the snowy lake reflects the scenery of all seasons. In addition, local specialties such as carp and lotus root from Bosten Lake are famous, making it an ideal place to experience the natural and humanistic charm of Xinjiang.
