Briceni, a small city in the north of Moldova, located along the Prut River and next to the Ukrainian border, is known for its quiet atmosphere and deep history. Founded in the 18th century, the city served as a regional trade center and still retains several neoclassical buildings and Orthodox churches that speak of a prosperous past. The local economy is based on agriculture, with viticulture and winemaking flourishing, and the surrounding vineyards are an important part of Moldova's wine culture. Awash, the capital of the Oromia region of Ethiopia, is located about 225 kilometers east of the capital, Addis Ababa, on the banks of the Awash River, and is an important economic and transportation hub in the eastern part of the country. The city is named "Awash" after the local Somali word for "water", emphasizing its close connection with the river. Nearby is Awash National Park, known for its spectacular volcanic landscapes, abundant wildlife such as zebras, giraffes and baboons, and valuable archaeological sites, including the discovery of ancient human fossils more than three million years old, making it one of the "Cradles of Humanity's Origins". The savannah climate, with an average annual temperature of 27°C, distinct wet and dry seasons, and lush green river valleys contrasting with the surrounding arid landscapes, attracts both nature and history lovers, and is an important gateway for experiencing Ethiopia's diverse ecology and ancient civilizations.
