There is no city name "Birao" in the Central African Republic, but it may be a misspelling of the capital Bangui. Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic, is located on the banks of the Oubangui River, across the river from Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and is the country's political, economic and cultural center. Diffa, the capital of the Diffa region in southeastern Niger, is located on the southern edge of the Sahara Desert and shares a border with Nigeria, making it one of the most important border cities in Niger.
