The island of Bioko is the main island and largest administrative region of Equatorial Guinea, located in the northern part of the Gulf of Guinea, about 40 kilometers off the coast of Cameroon. The island covers an area of about 2,017 square kilometers, and Malabo, the capital, is the country's capital and largest city.
The island of Bioko was formed by a volcano and has a mountainous terrain, with its highest peak at 3,008 meters above sea level. The island is covered with tropical rainforests and is rich in biodiversity, with unique species of flora and fauna. The climate is tropical and maritime, with high temperatures and rainfall throughout the year, with an average annual temperature of about 25°C.
