Located in the northwestern part of Guizhou Province, China, Bijie is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guizhou Province, situated at the junction of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces, and is famous for its rich natural landscape and unique ethnic culture. With a total area of about 26,800 square kilometers and a population of over 6 million, the city has a subtropical monsoon climate with four distinct seasons.
Bijie is home to world-class natural heritages such as the Zhijin Cave and the Baili Azalea Scenic Area, the latter of which is famous for its sea of azaleas that roam the mountains in spring. In addition, the Caohai National Nature Reserve is a habitat for migratory birds, attracting many bird-watching enthusiasts. These attractions make it a popular destination for tourism in Guizhou.
Bijie is a multi-ethnic settlement area, with rich and colorful cultures of the Yi, Miao and other ethnic minorities, and well-preserved traditional festivals and handicrafts. The economy is dominated by agriculture, energy and tourism, and is rich in coal resources and is promoting the development of green energy. In recent years, infrastructure improvements have fueled regional economic growth.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
