Located in southern Belize, on the west coast of the Stann Creek Peninsula, Big Creek is the country's premier deep-water port and coastal town. As the third largest port in Belize, Big Creek is responsible for shipping major exports such as bananas and seafood, and is a key trade hub connecting the interior with the Caribbean Sea. With a typical tropical rainforest climate that is warm and humid all year round, surrounded by dense mangrove forests, crystal clear lagoons and an undeveloped coastline, it is an ideal destination for eco-tourism and water sports. Visitors can experience offshore fishing, mangrove kayaking adventures, or explore the unique marine ecology of the Caribbean by taking a boat trip to nearby dive sites such as Homestake Reef (Hole in the Wall). Despite its small size, Big Creek attracts visitors seeking an in-depth travel experience with its pristine natural beauty and tranquil harbor atmosphere.
