Boiron is a town in the administrative district of Upper Bavaria in the German state of Bavaria, not an independent state. It is located about 50 kilometers south of Munich on the banks of the Isar River in the northern foothills of the Alps and has a population of about 3,500. The town is known for its rich history, its Catholic Benedictine abbey and its natural beauty.
The Abbey of Boiron, founded in the 8th century, is the central landmark of the area and is known for its Baroque architecture and collection of religious art. The town retains its traditional Bavarian houses, hosts annual Christmas markets and other folklore events, and is surrounded by forests and hills, making it ideal for hiking and cycling tours.
The economy is based on tourism, agriculture and small crafts, with easy access to Munich and the Austrian border by road and rail. Boiron embodies the tranquility and cultural heritage of the Bavarian countryside and is an ideal stopover for exploring the German pre-Alpine region.
Nestled in the hinterland of the Bohemian Plain about 50 kilometers from the capital city of Prague, Zástrizli is a quiet town in the Czech region of Central Bohemia that attracts visitors with its well-preserved medieval architecture and idyllic landscape. Dating back to the 14th century, the town's core is marked by the Gothic St. Catherine's Church and the Renaissance-style Town Hall, with red-tiled roofs and stone paths intertwined in a rich historical atmosphere. Surrounded by vast farmland and forests, the area is ideal for hiking and cycling to experience traditional bohemian countryside life. Despite its small size, the local craft workshops and family restaurants retain their simple folklore, making it an ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and experience a slower Czech lifestyle.
