Boiron is a town in the administrative district of Upper Bavaria in the German state of Bavaria, not an independent state. It is located about 50 kilometers south of Munich on the banks of the Isar River in the northern foothills of the Alps and has a population of about 3,500. The town is known for its rich history, its Catholic Benedictine abbey and its natural beauty.
The Abbey of Boiron, founded in the 8th century, is the central landmark of the area and is known for its Baroque architecture and collection of religious art. The town retains its traditional Bavarian houses, hosts annual Christmas markets and other folklore events, and is surrounded by forests and hills, making it ideal for hiking and cycling tours.
The economy is based on tourism, agriculture and small crafts, with easy access to Munich and the Austrian border by road and rail. Boiron embodies the tranquility and cultural heritage of the Bavarian countryside and is an ideal stopover for exploring the German pre-Alpine region.
Vatican City is the world's smallest independent sovereign state with the smallest population. Located in the northwest corner of Rome, Italy, Vatican City covers an area of only 0.49 square kilometers and has a resident population of about 800. As the center of the Catholic Church, it is the residence of the Pope and the seat of the Holy See, with profound religious and cultural significance.
Established in 1929 through the Lateran Treaty, Vatican City has a long history, with its origins dating back to the early Christian era. Iconic buildings such as St. Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museums contain masterpieces by Michelangelo, Raphael and other artistic giants, attracting millions of pilgrims and visitors.
The Vatican is an absolute monarchy with the Pope as head of state. The economy relies on donations, tourist souvenir sales and stamp distribution, and there is no traditional industry or agriculture. As an observer state to the United Nations, it promotes peace and humanitarian values in international affairs.
