Boiron is a town in the administrative district of Upper Bavaria in the German state of Bavaria, not an independent state. It is located about 50 kilometers south of Munich on the banks of the Isar River in the northern foothills of the Alps and has a population of about 3,500. The town is known for its rich history, its Catholic Benedictine abbey and its natural beauty.
The Abbey of Boiron, founded in the 8th century, is the central landmark of the area and is known for its Baroque architecture and collection of religious art. The town retains its traditional Bavarian houses, hosts annual Christmas markets and other folklore events, and is surrounded by forests and hills, making it ideal for hiking and cycling tours.
The economy is based on tourism, agriculture and small crafts, with easy access to Munich and the Austrian border by road and rail. Boiron embodies the tranquility and cultural heritage of the Bavarian countryside and is an ideal stopover for exploring the German pre-Alpine region.
Rudky is a small city in the Lviv Oblast of western Ukraine, located about 30 kilometers southwest of the capital city of Lviv, in the basin of a tributary of the San River, in the transition zone of the western part of the Eastern European Plain. With a population of about 52,000 (2023 estimate), the city is a center of economic services for the surrounding agricultural region, with light industry and machine building as its main industries, as well as factories for textile, wood processing and agro-processing. In terms of transportation, Rudecki is located on the main Lviv-Sandomierz road and is connected by rail to Lviv's border with Poland, and has historically been an important trade transit point. The city retains some of its late 19th century Eastern European architecture, and the surrounding natural landscape is dominated by farmland and forests, combining the tranquility of an agricultural town with industrial functions, making it a typical regional urban node in western Ukraine.
