Boiron is a town in the administrative district of Upper Bavaria in the German state of Bavaria, not an independent state. It is located about 50 kilometers south of Munich on the banks of the Isar River in the northern foothills of the Alps and has a population of about 3,500. The town is known for its rich history, its Catholic Benedictine abbey and its natural beauty.
The Abbey of Boiron, founded in the 8th century, is the central landmark of the area and is known for its Baroque architecture and collection of religious art. The town retains its traditional Bavarian houses, hosts annual Christmas markets and other folklore events, and is surrounded by forests and hills, making it ideal for hiking and cycling tours.
The economy is based on tourism, agriculture and small crafts, with easy access to Munich and the Austrian border by road and rail. Boiron embodies the tranquility and cultural heritage of the Bavarian countryside and is an ideal stopover for exploring the German pre-Alpine region.
Located in the northwestern part of Shanxi Province, on the east bank of the Yellow River, it is the first important pass where the Yellow River flows into Shanxi Province, and has been the "screen of Jin" and a place where soldiers have to fight for their lives since ancient times. The Great Wall meanders in the territory, and the passes stand in a row. The Laoniuwan Yellow River Canyon meets the Great Wall, forming the spectacle of "the Yellow River and the Great Wall shaking hands", which is regarded as "one of the most beautiful canyons in China". It has a long history, belonging to Zhao in the Warring States period, and was a major town of nine borders in the Ming Dynasty, and the remains of the old city wall of Guan Guan and the Wenpen Pagoda now tell the vicissitudes of the border. The Yellow River culture, border culture and folk culture are blended here, and specialties such as mutton and oil cake are unique, making it a famous historical and cultural city in Northwest Jin with both natural scenery and cultural heritage.
