Boiron is a town in the administrative district of Upper Bavaria in the German state of Bavaria, not an independent state. It is located about 50 kilometers south of Munich on the banks of the Isar River in the northern foothills of the Alps and has a population of about 3,500. The town is known for its rich history, its Catholic Benedictine abbey and its natural beauty.
The Abbey of Boiron, founded in the 8th century, is the central landmark of the area and is known for its Baroque architecture and collection of religious art. The town retains its traditional Bavarian houses, hosts annual Christmas markets and other folklore events, and is surrounded by forests and hills, making it ideal for hiking and cycling tours.
The economy is based on tourism, agriculture and small crafts, with easy access to Munich and the Austrian border by road and rail. Boiron embodies the tranquility and cultural heritage of the Bavarian countryside and is an ideal stopover for exploring the German pre-Alpine region.
Curaçao Otro Punda is the historic core of Willemstad, the capital of Curaçao, an overseas self-governing country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and is located on the southwestern coast of Curaçao in the southern part of the Caribbean Sea. As the first commercial settlement established by the Dutch colonists in the 17th century, this area is a perfect blend of European colonial architecture and tropical style, with brightly colored Dutch-style houses lined up along the harbor, forming a unique "rainbow street" landscape, which was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with the Old Town of Willemstad in 1997. Otero Banda was once a Caribbean island. Once the trading hub of the Caribbean, Otrobanda still has many historic buildings, museums, boutiques and open-air cafes, and is a must-visit place to experience Curaçao's multicultural (a blend of Africa, Europe and South America) and colonial history, attracting tourists from all over the world to experience the charm of this "Little Amsterdam".
