Boiron is a town in the administrative district of Upper Bavaria in the German state of Bavaria, not an independent state. It is located about 50 kilometers south of Munich on the banks of the Isar River in the northern foothills of the Alps and has a population of about 3,500. The town is known for its rich history, its Catholic Benedictine abbey and its natural beauty.
The Abbey of Boiron, founded in the 8th century, is the central landmark of the area and is known for its Baroque architecture and collection of religious art. The town retains its traditional Bavarian houses, hosts annual Christmas markets and other folklore events, and is surrounded by forests and hills, making it ideal for hiking and cycling tours.
The economy is based on tourism, agriculture and small crafts, with easy access to Munich and the Austrian border by road and rail. Boiron embodies the tranquility and cultural heritage of the Bavarian countryside and is an ideal stopover for exploring the German pre-Alpine region.
Magas (Магас) is the capital of the Republic of Ingushetia in the Russian Federation, located in the North Caucasus region near the border with the Republic of Chechnya, and is one of the youngest capitals of Russia (founded in 1995). With a population of about 15,000, the small city is the political, economic and cultural center of Ingushetia, despite its small size. The city's name is derived from the medieval ancient Ingush word for "city of the sun", symbolizing light and hope. The city is a blend of modern planning and traditional Caucasian architecture, with landmarks such as the Republican Government Building and the National Museum, as well as agricultural and light industries, and is a transportation node connecting the Transcaucasus region. As a place of inheritance of Ingushetia culture, it has preserved rich folk traditions and historical memories, showing the unique regional charm of the North Caucasus.
