Jiujiang, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangxi Province, is located on the south bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and northwest of Poyang Lake, at the junction of four provinces, namely, Gan, Hubei, Anhui and Hunan, and is known as the "North Gate of Jiangxi".
